People who help us play.

15th Apr 2026

We recently finished our topic on People Who Help Us and had a great time exploring this through play-based learning. The children engaged in a wide range of activities that helped develop their understanding of different roles in our community.

We had great fun playing with peg boards, creating people and strengthening fine motor skills. Our dress-up area was very popular, with children confidently taking on roles such as doctors, nurses, and police officers. In our small world play, the hospital and transport encouraged the children to use their imagination.

The children enjoyed building medical stations using Lego.  They also took part in labelling nurses, helping to develop early writing and recognition skills. Making “Get Well Soon” cards allowed the children to express care and kindness.

We explored jigsaws and got creative by designing our own police badges. We enjoyed Play-doh mats and our “People Who Help Us” road map and vehicles.
